Falling in love

Remember the picture book that I’m revising? The one where I said I wasn’t sure I could ever be satisfied with the new emotional center of the story?

I think I might be falling in love. 🙂

  1. YAYA Kristie!

    That’s WONDERFUL!

I’m so close I can taste it, but am pulling out hunks o’ hair. I KNOW it makes the story stronger, betterer. I know the bones and even the words to use. But sometimes, especially when the pattern has been set, fitting those square pegs takes a bit of whittling. In my case (because it’s written in syncopated rhythm) it’s taking a bit of a beat-ing. Sheesh. I dreamt I was successful last night, though I couldn’t tell you what I wrote. Between the dream and you’re post I’m going to take that as a beacon to push on. Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. Ooh! I love it when we fall in love, at last, with the story we’re working on. So much of the early stuff is a struggle that it is a glorious relief when we reach the love-fest.
