This is what I’ve been up to…

My mom and stepdad and sister were here for two weeks from the States and I taught my mom to do the mosaics I’ve been learning. First we handpaint the plate glass, then cut it into the desired size and shape, and then use it for mirror frames, boxes and any number of things we decided to use it on. It was fun.

The other thing I’ve been up to? Isn’t he cute?

    1. Thanks! It takes about five hours if you count the time it takes to paint the glass. But I usually paint up a bunch of glass and then use pieces of it in different projects.

  1. I didn’t know you were crafty! The puppy is adorable but– I didn’t know you were crafty! Just how to you handpaint plate glass? Is this a Brazilian hand craft?

Have you ever considered an online tutorial!?!

    1. It’s not particularly Brazilian. It’s basically just straight mosaic art, with the additional step of painting the glass. You just use glass paint and then paint all kinds of colors and designs and then learn to cut it into the desired shapes and sizes. It looks a little more unique than regualr mosaic because each of the individual tiles are unique.
